Bras
A large bust can often be limiting or cause discomfort, especially when you wear certain dresses and in certain situations. What happens? Women with a large bust opt for covering or unfeminine garments and styles, to avoid unwanted attention and unpleasant situations. But there is a solution: the support bra.
There was a time when such women were shunned by the manufacturers of major lingerie brands (today some still only offer up to a size 38). However, this trend is finally fading away and now it is easy to find a series of products on the market that respond more effectively to specific needs. The support bra is one example, with the purpose of keeping the bust as close and still to the body as possible (without ever compressing it). Bust volume and size is visibly reduced, making it possible to wear different outfits, without having to resort to breast reduction surgery. Thanks to the slimming bra, bust volume is less perpendicular and more parallel to the woman's body. Let's take a look at the main types of minimising support bras.
What are the most widespread types of support bras?
Let's start by saying that a support bra, also known as a minimiser, is not actually all that different from a classic bra. However it is clear that in structural terms they present certain technical features that help optimise bust management. What are they? First of all, the cups are bigger, because they must contain the bust, without pushing it forwards (which is what happens with a push-up bra). The cups are also less plunging compared to traditional models (to prevent unsightly folds on the décolleté). Lastly, the straps are wider and less elastic, to reduce bouncing during movement.
Shaping bras are essentially available in the following types and vary according to women's needs:
- wireless support bras: especially popular with younger women going through the delicate phase of breast development.
- sports support bras: extremely useful during physical activity at the gym, outdoors and for sport in general. They support the bust during all movements.
minimising support bras: perfect for a very large bust that is difficult to manage. Bust appearance can be reduced while still being supported by the right cup size.
